The Rajasthan government recently announced a yojana, “Chief Minister Digital Seva Yojana,” to provide a smartphone to the women heads of Chiranjivi families with internet connectivity. This announcement will be implemented under the Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana. This scheme will be divided into multiple phases. In the first phase of the scheme, camps will be organized starting January 2024, to distribute smartphones and SIM cards with data plans to about 40 lakh women beneficiaries. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan had announced that he would provide smartphones with internet connectivity to the women heads of Chiranjeevi Families. - In this, 1.35 crore women heads of Chiranjeevi families will be given free smartphones.
- No charge will be given for mobile phones.
- In this scheme, touch screen smartphones with facilities like internet, dual-sim, Bluetooth, hotspot, memory, wifi, etc.
- In this, the information app for all the important schemes in Rajasthan will be installed. From where women will be able to get information and connect with them.
- Women will be given a phone with a price tag of around Rs. 9,000, a 32GB storage capacity, and a 5.5-inch screen.
- Along with mobile, 5 GB of data per month for 3 years, unlimited free local and STD calling facilities, and mobile SIM will also be given for free.
